This 3 Days Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour is a spectacular journey across the heart of Morocco’s Sahara Desert, combining scenic beauty, cultural heritage, and a touch of luxury. Starting in Marrakech, you’ll traverse the High Atlas Mountains, visit the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, explore cinematic Ouarzazate, and follow the dramatic Dades and Todra Gorges before reaching the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga.
Enjoy an unforgettable camel trek at sunset, sleep under the stars in a luxury desert camp, and wake to the golden glow of dawn over the dunes. This route perfectly blends adventure and comfort, making it one of the most captivating Marrakech desert tours through the Sahara Desert of Morocco.
Your Marrakech desert tour begins early as you cross the High Atlas Mountains via the stunning Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m). Enjoy breathtaking views of mountain peaks, Berber villages, and terraced valleys.
Continue to the legendary Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring this ancient fortress, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert” and home to Atlas Film Studios.
Drive along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to reach the picturesque Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel surrounded by impressive red rock formations.
After breakfast, head toward the Todra Gorges, a spectacular canyon carved by the Todra River with cliffs rising over 300 meters. Continue through Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops, and reach the edge of the Sahara in Merzouga.
Meet your camels and embark on a magical camel trek across the dunes of Erg Chebbi as the sun sets over the desert. Upon arrival at your luxury desert camp, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner by the campfire and live Berber music under a starry sky.
Sleep comfortably in your private tent equipped with modern amenities for a perfect Sahara desert Morocco experience.
Wake early to admire a magnificent sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, ride camels or take a 4x4 transfer back to Merzouga and begin your drive north toward Fes.
Travel through the scenic Ziz Valley, filled with palm groves and traditional kasbahs, and cross the Middle Atlas Mountains via Midelt. Stop in the charming town of Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before arriving in Fes by late afternoon.
Your driver will drop you at your accommodation, marking the end of this unforgettable 3-day desert adventure from Marrakech to Fes.
