Itinerary

On the first day of your 6-day 5 nights tour from Tangier, we will meet you at Tangier's port, then travel via the Rif Highlands and Tetouan city, taking in the amazing views of the highlands until we arrive in Chefchaouan, a lovely hamlet at the foot of the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen's Medina boasts a Spanish-style courtyard surrounded by several odd arts and crafts businesses on the roof, restaurants, and cafés where you may stop for lunch before continuing on to Fes, where we will spend the night.

After breakfast, spend the day exploring Fes, the imperial city's oldest, and Medinas, built by Idriss II and a centre of Arab-Muslim culture: the Andalusians' Mosque, tanneries, district potters, and Medina. Lunch in a palace in the Medina. In the afternoon, we continue our tour of the Hispano-Moorish buildings and Medersas Nejjarine.

Today we drive over the Middle Atlas Mountains to Ifrane and Azrou. We pull over to the side of the road to observe the monkeys in their natural habitat, the cedar trees. Traveling along the Tizi Ntalghamt and the stunning Ziz gorges carved into volcanic rock, you will enjoy views of the Middle Atlas plateau and the changing topography exposing desert notes as you approach Errachidia. After lunch, we continue our journey across the Ziz valley, and Merzouga. After a cup of mint tea, we leave our belongings at a hotel and proceed on a camel trip to a Berber camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes, North Africa's highest sand dunes. The camel trip takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes to the camp, where we spend the night in Berber tents in the desert. After dinner, we'll gather around the fire to listen to traditional Berber singing and drumming under the stars.

We'll get up early to enjoy the dawn over the dunes before having a camel ride back to the hotel. After a shower and breakfast, we go to Tinghir and Todra Gorges before landing in the Dades Valley for supper and the night.

Today we drive over the Dades Valley to Kalaat M'Gouna and Ouarzazate. The Road of a Thousand Kasbahs offers a variety of photo opportunities. We will visit the Valley of Roses and the village of Skoura before proceeding to Ouarzazate, dubbed as "Africa's Hollywood." Lunch will be served at the famed Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, Morocco's biggest Kasbah. Following our visit to this UNESCO World Heritage Site, we continue our journey via the beautiful Tizi n'Tichka pass, which reaches an altitude of 2260 meters in the High Atlas Mountains. We pause to soak in the gorgeous surroundings. We get at Marrakech late in the afternoon.

Today we travel to Marrakech, Morocco's "Red City." Our city tour will ensure that you visit all of the historical and cultural attractions, such as the Minaret Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian tombs, the beautiful Bahia Palace, and the Ben Youssef Koranic school. Before visiting the famous Djamaa El Fna, go around the alleyways and see all of the medina's artists at work. Lunch at a neighboring restaurant, followed by a walk to the Majorelle Gardens and a small tower in Gueliz, Marrakech's new town. After dinner, you will be able to roam around the area while being entertained by magicians, storytellers, their teeth, and food vendors. End of 6-Day Sahara Desert Tour from Tangier.
