This short desert trip is perfect for travelers who want to experience the authentic Moroccan desert in just two days. Enjoy a scenic drive through mountain passes, ancient kasbahs, and palm-filled valleys. Take a camel ride at sunset, spend a magical night in a Berber desert camp, and wake up to a spectacular sunrise over the dunes before returning to Marrakech.
Depart early from Marrakech and journey across the High Atlas Mountains, passing through winding roads and traditional Berber villages perched on the mountainside. Stop at panoramic viewpoints along the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m) for photos of the dramatic landscapes.
Continue toward Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most iconic fortified village, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. Explore the kasbah, which has served as a backdrop for numerous films such as Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones.
After lunch, continue through Ouarzazate, known for its desert architecture and film studios, before heading south through the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the scenic Draa Valley, filled with palm trees and ancient kasbahs.
Arrive in Zagora by evening, where your camels will be waiting for a memorable sunset camel trek through the dunes. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in a traditional Berber desert camp beneath a canopy of stars.

Wake up early to admire the sunrise over the Zagora dunes, an experience you’ll never forget. After breakfast, ride your camel back to meet your driver and begin your return journey.
Travel once again through the Draa Valley, passing oases, kasbahs, and small Berber towns like Agdz. Stop in Ouarzazate to visit the Taourirt Kasbah or enjoy a relaxing lunch in town.
In the afternoon, cross the High Atlas Mountains on your way back to Marrakech, arriving by early evening.
